To mark VE Day 80, actor George McKay reads a letter written by Lance Corporal Austin Johnson, who wrote home about receiving the news of VE Day while stationed in Italy on 7th May 1945. These letters were shared with us by the @imperialwarmuseums who have partnered with the Department for Culture, Media and Sport for Letters to Loved Ones, encouraging the public to share wartime letters sent by their relatives.
