The #E3B (Expert Infantryman Badge, Expert Soldier Badge, Expert Field Medic Badge) train-up has begun. Soldiers from HSC HHBN 2ID, 2ID Headquarters & Headquarters Battalion, #2IDRUCD, have been sharpening their skills and preparing physically and mentally to earn their expert badges for the upcoming E3B training. The purpose of E3B is to create experts at all levels across all organizations, increasing the readiness and lethality of teams, squads, and platoons throughout the Korean peninsula. #

#OnThisDayInHistory 27 October 1943 - Expert Infantryman Badge and Combat Infantryman Badge Established The Expert Infantryman Badge, or EIB, is a special skills badge of the United States Army. Although similar in name and appearance to the Combat Infantryman Badge (CIB), it is a completely different award. The CIB is awarded to infantrymen for participation in ground combat while the EIB is presented for completion of a course of testing designed to demonstrate proficiency in infantry skills.

The Expert Infantryman Badge represents the Infantry’s tough, hard-hitting role in combat and symbolizes proficiency in the Infantry arts.
